The first day of the trek involves a gradual ascent through the forested area to reach Taluka village. From here, the trail leads to Osla, a small hamlet that serves as a base camp for the trek. On the third day of the trek, one crosses the Har Ki Dun Pass, which is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters. The pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak. After crossing the pass, one reaches the Har Ki Dun Valley, which is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers.

The valley is home to several high-altitude lakes, including Jaundhar Glacier Lake, Maninda Tal, and Morinda Tal. These lakes are considered sacred by the locals and are believed to have healing properties. The valley is also home to rare species of flora and fauna, including the Himalayan black bear, musk deer, and snow leopard.

IMPORTANT POINTS

 

Documents required: It is mandatory for trekkers to carry a copy of their photo id and medical certificate for entry at forest check posts on the trek. The medical certificate along with the disclaimer form will be part of the Safety Check-in done by the trek leader when you arrive at the base camp.

Stay facility: At the base camp, your stay will be at our Campus which has rooms. Do not bring any packaged food, tags from your new clothes or any waste with you. We follow a Dustbin Free Zone and No Wet Wipes Policy at our base camps in line with our spirit of Green Trails. On the trek, you will be staying 2 in a tent.

Cloakroom facility for excess luggage: We have a Cloak Room facility at the base camp for excess luggage. Every trekker is permitted to leave behind one piece of luggage at no charge. Anything beyond one piece of luggage is chargeable at Rs 500 per luggage. (The luggage could be a backpack / suitcase / duffel bag or anything similar.). Do not leave behind any valuables in the cloakroom.

Advisory Note: The road from Taluka to Kotgaon often gets blocked in case of bad weather. To be on the safer side, we highly recommend keeping a buffer day in your travel plan. To accommodate your buffer day, book flexible flight tickets, which are available with most airlines.

  • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the trek.
  • Avoid using earphones during the trek; this might hinder your audibility.
  • Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations.
  • The trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travelers littering may be fined.
  • Water is very precious, so conservation is appreciated

  • The management reserves all the right to modify the trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
  • Neat and clean vehicle for the journey with experienced driver especially for hilly terrains available.
  • Camping is very basic in nature. One must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
  • Mobile & laptop charging points may not be available on campsites at a common point.
  • Carry dry snacks/food from home (you will save a lot of money). Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
  • Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
  • Porter & mule support to carry camping equipment. Please note that personal luggage can be carried by mules and/or porters on chargeable basis
  • Consult a physician before undertaking the Har ki Doon trek. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the trek.
  • Transportation to and  from Dehradun Railway Station is available on request on additional charges.
  • Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Har Ki Doon trek package.

It is necessary to have 3 pairs of clothes from trekking, especially the poncho, you will have to bring every season

In the summer season, the temperature is always normal, so there is no need for hot clothes.

 Monsoon Season

 

During the monsoon season, it rains occasionally during the Har Ki Dun Trek, especially in the Uttarakhand Himalayas , so if you have dry clothes here, it is very good, even when wet, it dries quickly.

At this time you have to bring at least 3 pairs of clothes, for monsoon trek you do not have to bring too warm clothes, at this time you, hiking pants and t-Sart, I can trek

Note :- If you want to do Har ki doon trek in winter, then keep the date till 1st week of December then last week of December, after that there is a lot of snow due to which forest trek does not permit.

DAY 1

Drive from Dehradun to Kotgaon

Drive Distance: 196 km | Drive Duration: 9-10 hours | Pick up for Alpha Hikers : Place - Grand Legacy Hotel, near Laal Pul, Dehradun(6.30am) or Library Chowk, Mussourie (7.30am) | Alpha Hikers basecamp Location: KotgaonTransport will be organised from Hotel Grand Legacy, near Laal Pull, Dehradun at 6.30 AM. Cost of the cab – Rs 6,500 per vehicle for an SUV (shared among 5-6 trekkers) and Rs 10,000 for Tempo Traveller (shared among 11-12 trekkers).

DAY 2

Drive from Kotgaon to Taluka. Trek from Taluka to Gangaad

Drive Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours | Trek Distance: 8.50 km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude Gain: 6,520 ft to 7,667 ft

DAY 3

Trek from Gangaad to Kalkatiyadhar via Osla

Trek Distance: 8 km | Trek Duration: 6 hours | Altitude Gain: 7,667 ft to 9,960 ft

DAY 4

Trek from Kalkatiyadhar to Boslo via Har Ki Dun

Trek Distance: 9 km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude Gain and Loss: 9,960 ft to 10,430 ft via 11,600 ft

DAY 5

Trek from Boslo to Devsu Thatch

Trek Distance: 5.5 km | Trek Duration: 5 hours | Altitude Gain: 10,430 ft to 9,930 ft

DAY 6

Trek from Devsu Thatch to Dhatmer

Trek Distance: 9.5 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude Gain and Loss: 9,930 ft to 7,800 ft

DAY 7

Drive from Dhatmer to Kotgaon and then to Dehradun

Drive Distance: 196 km | Drive Duration: 9-10 hours | Altitude Loss: 7,800 ft to 6,520 ft

This transport cost has to be borne by trekkers and paid directly to the driver. Cost of the cab – Rs.6,500 per vehicle for an SUV, shared among 5-6 trekkers, or Rs.10,000 per vehicle for a Tempo Traveler, shared among 11-12 trekkers.

Please note:

The distance between campsites may vary by 100 meters depending the weather conditions and the route you take. The altitude may also vary by 100 feet for similar reasons.
